The Older Old Man, my Father, was
walkin', talkin', Common Sense. I wrote this song with his " Look before you leap " mentality in mind.
The title is a combination of the clichés " There's a sucker ( or " one " ) born ev 'ry minute " and " Sucker for a pretty face ". This tune is riddled with clichés, old sayings, and a nod to a legendary singer/songwriter, Hank Williams ( " Hey, good lookin', whatcha got cookin' ? " ).
I would have loved to have heard Kenny Rodgers sing this one ; it was tailor-made for his inflectional voice.
