For the introduction to this song, I think most people just woulda pressed and held the key for the "waves" effects and left it at that - I have a tendency to do things the hard way ( it's difficult not to be " hard "- headed when you're a Bonehead :o ) Since I used to surf year-round in my younger years, I'm pretty familiar with the water ; I patched together several versions of ocean sounds, tryin' to capture a feeling as authentic and rhythmic as I could.
Because I don't consider the songs I've written with a Western motif in mind necessarily Classic " Country " music, it's branded with a tongue-in-cheek " Countre' " nomenclature instead.
I kept the vocals kind of old and craggy on purpose, but I could see an accomplished Country Western singer possibly makin' this catchy enough to be a hit. Who knows ? Are there any misguided Johnny Cash impersonators out there ? Hope it lassoes your melodious heart just the same : )
