One Night, Long Ago now, I was at a Bar and happened to run into the Owner of the Studio I’d made most of my “ Bare-Bones “ recordings in - A pretty Cool Character ( as long as I dismiss the suffering from some of his lackadaisical business practices ) Anyways, he told me that a News Crew had been scheduled to come to his Studio the next day to get footage for a piece about Local Music Studio businesses and that the band he’d planned to perform ( for the “ spot “ ) had Bailed-Out at the last minute . . . ( he’d heard me during some of my little recordings and ) I couldn’t believe it when he asked me to fill in ( !! )
The Next Day, A Cameraman and a Newscaster named Judy Hsu from Channel 8 met the Owner, one of the Studio’s Sound Engineers, and myself at the Studio . . .
Even Before I was an Adult, I’ve absolutely Despised having my Photograph Taken ( to the point of being Neurotic ), but it was the Strangest Thing that day : As I was sitting on a stool in the middle of the Recording Room, playing Guitar and Singing “ I Can’t See You Anymore “, while the Cameraman circled me, filming for the duration of the entire Song, I was actually Happy About It : o Must of been Vanity or Self-Aggrandizement or somethin’ ( ! ? )
Days Later, I felt Horrible when I was told that the News Interview with The Sound Engineer had been cut short because the Cameraman had ran out of battery power from filming me for so long ( ! ) . . .
But it turned out, It Didn’t Matter Anyway - The Piece NEVER Aired and, besides, The Owner told me that I had missed Two notes . . . so much for Stardom, huh ? . . . ha . . .
